Well the winter was unforgiving,
and the ground still frosty white.
Our only redeeming graces, was that springtime was in sight.
But the springtime is for cleaning,
so what am I to do?
When all the cleaning to be done,
is inside of you.

So I sing for forgiveness,
I sing for better days.
I sing for all my worries to be tossed into the grave.
But I pray, for the strength
to dig all these shallow graves...

Now the nighttime falls upon us,
and it's time to rest our eyes.
But my head is much too busy,
with all my twisted lies!
So I stay awake to write and drink from a hallow cup.
Before I close my tired eyes,
the God-damn sun is up.

So I sing for forgiveness,
I sing for better days.
I sing for all my worries to be tossed into the grave.
But I pray, for the strength
to dig all these shallow graves...

How I wish I could take it back,
the damage that I've done.
