It was the heat of the summer and the loneliness in my bones that fueled this song. As one could infer, I was in a long-distance relationship at this point in time. I was inspired by Dolly and Patsy in particular, this song is a homage to the classic country women that also picked up a pen and guitar while discovering their identity in a serious relationship. Also just being really f**king sick of cell phones.
lyrics
Lonesome as the daylight,
I find myself again.
The days go by, so slow.
Sleeping all alone,
make the nights feel even longer.
Waking up hurts more than the time before.
Counting down the weeks,
no point it seems.
Another day, another night
with screens, between us and the sheets.
How many times?
Can we really say,
good morning and goodnight,
I hope you slept alight, I did. [
Counting down the weeks,
no point it seems.
Another day, another night
with screens, between us and the sheets.
Another day, another night
I love you so, guess that's goodnight
